Aragon High School Deploys These Come From Trees Stickers

Aragon High School in San Mateo, California has an "Environmental Impact Committee" the head of which came across the These Come From Trees blog. Jason reached out to us, asking if he could get a fixed number of stickers for a set price, rather than buying a bundle, because the Committee is on a tight budget. We, of course, offered the school complimentary stickers.
Jason has promised to report back on how the project proceeds at Aragon. And in the meantime, if there are any other schools out there, that would like to deploy These Come From Trees stickers into their bathrooms, the same offer we made Aragon applies: complimentary stickers for your bathrooms, to help your school be that much greener!

Hi Peter-
I am the student government environmental affairs coordinator at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Maryland. I found your stickers recently at a public bathroom and I loved them. My school notoriously fails its recycling reviews and I am trying to pump up support this year. Is there any possibility that we can get some of the stickers complimentary likeAragon High Schooll? Contact my email: emily_dillon@mac.com if you are willing and I can give you the address. Thanks

Peter-
I am a member of my school's Action to Clean Up The Environment (A.C.U.T.E.) Club in Los Angeles, California. I first saw one of your stickers when I was in Berkeley, and it obviously made enough of an impact on me so that I checked out your blog site. I think that these stickers are genius, and are effective in forcing people to think about the resources they waste, out of habit, on a daily basis. I would love to take you up on your offer of sending stickers to schools interested in your campaign, similarly to Aragon High School. If it's possible for me to receive complimentary stickers, please email me at bmw0950@yahoo.com Thank you so much.

My 4th grade students in Millbrae gave a boost to our schools recycling program last year when they initated a school wide project to reduce reuse and recycle more. The city has been very supportive in the students endeavors. I know those students would love to see the stickers up and around our school as well. We have sinks (and paper towels) in every classroom - and our little ones could use a friendly reminder! We would love some complimentary stickers for our school if possible! ...What a great idea - Thank YOU!

Hi,
I'm a student at Los Angeles High School and an active member of our school's Interact Club. This project is a creative and amazingly simple way to create environmental awareness, and we would love for you to send our school some stickers as well. I'm sure that we, as a club, could get these stickers up not only all over campus but all over the city of Los Angeles as well. My email address is bibimbapp@gmail.com. Thanks.

Peter,
I attend Drake University in Des Moines, IA and am involved in DEAL (Drake Environmental Action League). One of my teachers brought these stickers to my attention and I think it is a wonderful idea. Our campus is 100% paper towel in bathroom which uses up 600 paper towel dispensers. I've talked to DEAL and our college and everyone agrees this would be a great way to get people to pay attention to how much paper towels they use. Would it be possible to get some complimentary stickers? We have 600 paper towel dispensers and I realize that that is a substantial amount but anything would help. Please email me at amj001@drake.edu. Thank you so much for your time!

Hey Peter,
I'm a student at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. I discovered one of your stickers in a public restroom somewhere in San Antonio, and ever since then I can't get this fantastic idea out of my mind! I've decided to make it my project this semester to get your stickers on all of our paper towl dispensers on campus. I will seek out student groups who are eco-centered and enlist their assistance, as our campus is home to nearly 30,000 students. We rely almost totally on paper products in our bathroom facilities. It would be phenomenal if you would be able to provide us with some complimentary ones; every little bit will help! My email address is mg1418@txstate.edu, if you would be able to aid us I'll forward you my mailing address. Thank you and best of luck to you! -Megan Goldner

Hi Peter-
I am a part of a student group dedicated to increasing awareness about recycling on campus. Our university has adequate facilities and a rather progressive stance toward sustainability, but student involvement in the process is sometimes lacking.
I saw one of your stickers in a restroom in the student center on campus today...GENUIS! and I would love to distribute them around all of Illinois State University to remind people of what we're really using to dry our hands. If we could possibly snag some stickers for free, that would be absolutely fantastic. Feel free to contact me at acoshau@ilstu.edu. Thanks!

Hello:

As part of a project called Democracy in Action for my middle school, we were required to choose a topic of our concern and advocate on behalf of it. I chose deforestation, and consequently came across this site. This is a great way to indirectly curb deforestation. I am interested in using these stickers as a solution to the effects of deforestation. Would it be possible for me to obtain a mailing address where I can send a letter containing further details?

Thank you,

Hi Peter,

Thanks so much for your great work. My name is Katie and I go to The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. We're trying really hard to be a sustainable institution and are looking for creative ways to reach our goal of carbon neutrality by the year 2020. Our facilities manager and I are really excited about your project and would like to put the TCFT stickers on our 100 paper towel dispensers. Does the free stickers for schools offer still stand? I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Best wishes,

Hi,

I am a student at Stanford and think these stickers would be great to have in my dorm's bathrooms. Do you think you could send me ten stickers? I think that should cover all the bathrooms. I could send you pictures to post up if you'd like. I understand the stickers do cost money, and if everyone asks you for stickers, it'd be difficult for you. Let me know, at f.14159 at gmail.com. Thank you!

Hi,

I'm part of a class called "Sustainability at Cal" at UC Berkeley. My group is focusing on one building in particular (VLSB) and I was wondering if I could get about 30 stickers to cover all the bathrooms. I know that our campus already has quite a few of these stickers, but surprisingly this building (one of the largest waste producers on campus) has been missed! We have a small budget for the project, so we can help cover shipping costs, etc. We have 6 other groups working on other buildings around campus, and if this works out, I can spread the word to them. Please contact me at lindalqian@gmail.com

Thanks so much!

Hi Peter!

I am a high school junior at Lowell High in San Francisco. I first saw these stickers in a Stonestown YMCA, but have yet to see them elsewhere. When the fall semester begins, I plan to begin an enviro-conscious club which will meet bi-weekly. The stickers would be a great club project! We would affix these to towel paper dispensers around school, as well as put them in public bathrooms in San Francisco. Of course, I plan to ask for permission before taking on the public areas, so that the stickers will STAY UP.

The massive number of comments has me questioning if all the requests for complementary stickers will be fulfilled. If select schools are chosen to receive them, I sure hope we do! I'd make sure we put them to good use. If not, we may still purchase these ingenious stickers when we have the funds.

Thanks for your consideration!

Hey I am a student at San Francisco State University, which is obviously much larger than any of these other schools applying. However, some of the bathrooms already have these stickers and I would LOVE to smack them all over any of the hundreds of others that haven't been tagged yet. I am rather poor at the moment, what with the semester just beginning, but I do have connections with the RA's and student government so if you want to send me some complimentary stickers and then get in touch with some of the bigger players on campus, that would be sweet. I am a middle school teacher in Winston Salem NC.I just saw your sticker yesterday at UNC-Greensboro. This year we have just formed a committee to reduce our schools environmental impact on our earth. We have started with recycling in the cafeteria (it is so sad that we haven't always been doing this) and I think your stickers would be a great project for us too. It is amazingly sad how much waste a middle school student creates, especially in the bathroom with paper towels. Hopefully this will help them think about it before wasting. If you are still giving complimentary stickers we would love some. If not, hopefully we will be able to get some funds to purchase some. Thanks for doing this, you are making a difference. Dear Peter,
Hi, my name is Alec and I am an eighth-grade student at Georgetown Day Middle School, in Washington, DC. Each year, the school holds the annual Global Awareness Day (GAD). On GAD, the school takes a break from regular classes, and holds assemblies and workshops relating to global issues, with the underlying theme of environmental protection. I saw your stickers at another regional school, and mentioned them to our school principal. She thought that it would be a wonderful idea, and suggested that we unveil the stickers this year on Global Awareness Day. On behalf of my school, I wish to inquire about procuring a quantity of your stickers, and I am willing to refer you to the principal for any questions that you may have. We wish to follow in the footsteps of Aragon, and the many other institutions that have deployed your stickers on their campuses. I can be reached at my school issued email address, Award13@gds.org, and eagerly await your reply.

Hello Peter,
I am a teacher in San Clemente,CA, and a friend of your mom. Your mom told me about your stickers a few years ago, and I have since seen your stickers in lots of odd places (airports across the country, even abroad). They always make me smile because I think they are such a great idea. I know your mom is responsible for some of them, as I'm sure are lots of other people at this point. I have been meaning to email you for ages. I would really like to take you up on your offer of free stickers for my school. In particular, for the photocopiers in the workroom. I notice that people use and discard so much paper without thinking, and am hoping that the little sign will make people think before they waste. I'd also like them for the bathrooms, if at all possible. I really appreciate what you are doing. I think awareness is the first step to change. Little choices can make an impact, and hopefully our little students will grow into more environmentally aware adults. My email is cgaylemorrison@gmail.com. Muchas gracias.

I did the same thing at my former high school, a small private school in Anaheim Ca.
Everyone knows me around campus as the eco-girl and when everyone started seeing the stickers everywhere, they automatically thought it was something eco-girl did.
The stickers seem to be working well, the girls seem to much more aware of taking those paper towels.

Now I'm going to do the same thing at my new home, Bucknell University.
Wish me luck!

My email is woodsm@massmed.org - and I'd love to hear from you!

Or you could send them, if that is just faster, to my attention at Beverly Farms Elementary School, 8501 Postoak Rd, Potomac, MD 20854.
(Attn: Monika Woods)
Thanks so much!

I love what you guys are doing! I was just on a work break and saw one of your stickers in a public restroom. I am part of the Sustainability Committee at Kauai Community College and was hoping we might be able to get some of your stickers since we are really trying to spread the concervation message around school. We are holding another meeting soon and would love to bring these stickers and encourage other members to check out your site. My email is: kosen@hawaii.edu. Aloha!

Hi Peter,

What a great thing you have going! We want to take part in the These Come From Trees Educational Challenge.

If you provide them, we would gladly post 26 TCFTs stickers on all our bathroom paper dispensers and copy machines at Elm Pine Elementary School in rural Bishop, CA.

Getting this message out to young kids is so important. When kids are exposed to environmental messages at an early age they "get it" as adults. There's not a lot of environmental ed going on in our local schools.

Stickers can be mailed to Elm Pine Elementary, 800 W Elm street School, Bishop CA 93514. Please put to the "attention of student Zoe Freilich".

Thanks for all you do!

Hi Peter, I am a 5th grade teacher at Byck Elementary in Louisville, KY. We go through more paper towels in a day than we would like and our principal has challenged our faculty and students to decrease their use of the paper towels supplied in the bathrooms. While I had good intentions, I admit that her wishes did not really hit me until I saw one of your stickers in the bathroom of a local coffee shop. Since then, I have been very conscious of my paper towel use. I think these stickers would be a wonderful addition to our school bathrooms and would help students understand that these paper towels do not magically appear, but do indeed come from trees. I would love to hear from you on how to get some complimentary stickers into our school. Thank you. My email is kellie.barrett@jefferson.kyschools.us

Hello Peter,
I'm a student at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. I discovered one of your stickers in a public restroom somewhere in Morgantown, and I realized how great of an idea this can be to remind people to not waste paper! I've decided to make it my project to get your stickers on all of our paper towel dispensers on campus. I will talk to our student government and other student organizations whom are interested in a greener campus and ask for their assistance, as our campus has 30,000 students. We rely almost totally on paper products in our bathroom facilities. It would be phenomenal if you would be able to provide us with some complimentary stickers, every little bit will help! My email address is syost@mix.wvu.edu. Thank you again for all of your help and I believe this is a great thing you guys are doing for the world.

I posted a request back in November of last year and haven't heard a word since. I left my email address as requested. Is there anything else I need to do? These stickers would make a huge difference at the 10 public elementary schools I work with, and I would really love to get them in place as soon as possible.

I found one of your stickers today at the dining hall bathroom of Pitzer College, the college across the street from mine, Scripps College. I was extremely jealous of Pitzer's genius adoption of guerilla environmental awareness, and knew I must bring such methods to my school! After meeting with my organization, SISL(Scripps Institute for Sustainable Living), we all agreed that we must post them in our college restrooms! Being the loser in all the 5 Claremont College sustainablity reviews, I want to do all that I can to make Scripps women aware of their impact. We would love to receive the complimentary stickers and promise that they will be put to good use!

Hi--I teach Environmental Science at South Anchorage High School in Anchorage, AK and would love free stickers for our school. My Enviro Sci kids currently collect all the recycling for the school as part of a class project--this would fit in perfectly with the purpose of our class (where does our stuff come from and where does our waste go?). I can be reached via email at schneider_erin@asdk12.org. I also have a school website: www.erinschneider.org.

Thanks!
Erin

My 5th grade class is helping to green our school. We'd love to have stickers for all of our school bathrooms and each classroom, in time for Earth Day, if possible. We'd need 18 for bathrooms and if you can give me enough for each classroom an additional 30. If this is possible, please email me and I will give you the mailing address! Thanks!

I just saw your sticker in the bathroom at the Jackson Hole Ski area and was so excited to show my kids. Their school in New Jersey is implementing some new energy saving and environmental policies and these stickers would be great for the bathrooms. At the school, the kids are counting lightbulbs, outlets and now we can get them counting paper dispensers!!!! We would love to have some, so as soon as we have a number we will contact you!
Thanks!

Hi Peter,

I would love to have some stickers and place them around our school! We are a charter school located in the South Bronx, NY. I saw the sticker in a bathroom of a restaurant one time, and it got me excited! It really bothers me when people use way too much unnecessary paper. I don't know if it's possible to give out a sticker for each students, which we have 180 of them this year (and we are growing to 700 in about 4 years). I can be contacted at applec19@yahoo.com. Thank you so much!

Thanks for the heads up article. If everyone would pitch in and be responsible for their small role in the overall big picture of life, we would all be alot better off than our current conditions state.

Hello Peter,
I am the coordinator of Environmental Affairs of my county, on the Student Council, in Howard County, Maryland. I would love to introduce these stickers at my school,Centennial High School, and after spending the last couple of months going around the administration at my school, I finally got approval. I would love to get a batch of complimentary These Come From Trees stickers.

I would love to see this program implemented in my school.
If this is a success at my school (which I have not doubts about), I will propose to make this a county-wide program!

LAN implementation uses several network devices, like a router, switch, network cable (UTP cable), and PC or laptop as user. Some of features that used in this LAN network are website blocking, (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) DHCP, Hotspot, and bandwidth. Testing on LAN networks is done by calculating throughput, delay, and packet loss. This test is needed to find out how well LAN network works.

Reducing waste can be accomplished through a combination of individual actions and systemic changes. Steps to reduce waste include reducing consumption, reusing products, recycling, and proper disposal of certain items.
Hiring a professional waste management service for businesses can also aid in properly disposing of waste in an environmentally friendly manner.
